This one has been tried and tested this week and sure can be recommended.
Ingredients:
200g porridge oats
100g light brown sugar
90g butter
Pinch of salt
100g golden syrup
Instructions:
Heat the oven to 180c/350f/gas mark 4
Line a small shallow baking tin with greasproof paper
Place sugar, butter, salt and syrup in a saucepan and melt gently over a low heat until the butter has melted and the mixture is warmed through. Stir all the time.
Remove from the heat and add the oats to the mixture, stir well and transfer to the baking tin.
Flatten with a metal spoon.
Bake for about 10 mins until golden brown.
Leave to cool and cut into squares.
Best stored in the fridge.
